What's that?
This is an AOSPized Version of the STOCK firmware, for whoever wants an AOSP experience BUT don't want to renounce to Samsung experience!

What lead me to do that:

With TheGingerMOD you can choose, if you want to use SetCPU to manually control CPU speed and governors
or
you can let it be done by new O/C Daemon made by rmk40.
This solution gives much better performance !!!

If you decide to use SetCPU, the O/C daemon wont affect you in any way, it will be not active.

If you want to use O/C Daemon, then read this small guide:

1- Remove any O/C tools like SetCPU, NoFrills, CPU Tuner, CPU Master etc. and reboot your device 2 times !

2- With O/C Daemon the frequencies are following:

wake_min_freq = 500000 (500 MHz)
wake_max_freq = 1200000 (1.2 GHz)
sleep_min_freq = 150000 (100 MHz)
sleep_max_freq = 150000 (200MHz)
==============================

With my test I Had a VERY bettery battery life AND MUCH better smoothness and performances!

3- If you decide to change the CPU frequencies yourself, it's very simple to do.

Just use The NEW Option in Settings->CPU SETTINGS

I do not recommend changing governors. Don't use SmartAss governor with new O/C Daemon. I recommend leaving default governors.

ALSO IN THIS ROM ARE PRESENT DUAL-CORE SCRIPTS from mike1986

What are them??
They simply set a determinate clock/governor/cpu for wake and sleep states:

wake:
Cpu0 active
Cpu1 active

Sleep
Cpu0 active
Cpu1 offline

This will lead to a BIG JUICE boot! I had a very good battery life with this and ALSO better performances!!! Cause when wake min freq is 500mhz and not 200 (we don't need that step when wake...)

To make changes to the script:

a- use root explorer and go to /system/etc/dual_core and change the two script inside
b- use adb pull modify them and adb push them (files /system/etc/dual_core_script)
c- create yourself an update.zip

After applied changes just reboot to take effect!!

Feine Sache.
Nur weiss ich nicht, was an den AOSP Anwendungen so gut ist.
Meist sind sie sehr spartanisch, z.B. Kontakte oder Kalender AOSP vs. Kontakte oder Kalender von Samsung.

Ob ASOP oder Samsung ist mir egal, phänomenal ist die Schlichtheit und das alles Funktioniert ohne unnötigen, überflüssigen Ballast.

Die Geschwindigkeit und die Stabilität ist einfach voll genial. Sogar der Akku hält ohne grosse Probleme was der Koch verspricht.

Gibt es zu dem Rom auch ein aktuelles Video? Das wäre für einen ersten Eindruck recht hilfreich.

Naja, mein "Test-Handy" ist auch gleichzeitig mein Handy für den Alltag weshalb mir das ganze testen etwas zu stressig ist.
Sowas wie in Komplettbackup müsste es geben. So wie bei Windows. Wenn man was versaut kostet das zwei, drei Mausklicks und schon ist das Backup mit allen Einstellungen, Daten usw. wieder drauf.

Kannst du doch, mit CWM Recovery unter "Backup und Restore" ein NandroidBackup machen und wenn du wieder zurück willst das Backup auch wieder über CWM Recovery Einspielen!!!

Danke für die Videos und deine Mühe. Das ROM hatte mich schon gereizt. Aber nach den Videos bleibe ich doch lieber bei insanity. Ist mMn noch minimalistischer und basiert zudem auf cm.

insanity habe ich auf dem anderen SGS 2.. mich stört dort die extrem kurze Akkuzeit die ich im vergleich zum gingermod habe und auch ist bei jedem reboot die tastatur wieder auf qwerty und nicht qwertz...

aber sonst nehmen sich die beiden ROMs von der schlankheit nicht viel ab, zumal ich ja eh noch mit dem appremover so zeugs wie radio, uhr und co. entsorge.

Funktioniert bei einem der Screenshot Modus? Ist ja Standartmässig nicht enthalten, habe dann extra das einzelne App per CWM "Screenshot_Service" installiert. Danach macht es zwar ein Bild aber ich sehe dieses unter DCIM -> Tumbnails auf meiner internen Karte.

Habe kein Qualitatives gutes Bild leider...

Könnte vielleicht jemand dem Rom Ersteller dies bitte mitteilen, mein Account zickt gerade rum :/

@diddsen, ja ich nutze das ROM produktiv auf meinem Daily Business Gerät... Super schnell, stabil und macht alles so wies soll. Keine Reboots und nichts zu viel verbaut oder hinzugefügt...


Wen Du eine Samsung Funktion willst, kannst Du die bequem im Update Tool unter Extras via OA beziehen und installieren lassen...
