Vodafone Branding?

Huhu,

hat jemand sein Trophy bei Vodafone erworben und kann was zum Branding von Vodafone sagen (irgendwelche Einschränkungen oder nicht entfernbare Kacheln auf dem Homescreen)?

Beim einschalten kommt kurz ein Vodafone logo.. Ddie kacheln haaben standardmäßig die farbe"Vodafone" kann man aber ganz normal ändern.. Und man hat eine vodafone 360 app die auch als Kachel auf den sceen ist, kann man von dort aber auch leicht entfernen aber die app lässt sich nicht ganz löschen

Das Branding als solches dürfte meiner Meinung nach weniger das Problem sein, kann man es doch außer in der Startsequenz (?) überall entfernen. Problematisch erscheint eher, daß MS den Providern doch einen gewissen Einfluss auf den Update-Prozess eingeräumt hat, so daß es hier bei gebrandeten Geräten zu Verzögerungen kommen könnte.

Microsoft has pledged to update any and all Windows Phones over time. And they will do so, though the schedule remains unclear. There is, however, one wrinkle to this scheme that only came to light in the past few weeks. While Microsoft had previously maintained that it would completely bypass any controls put in place by wireless carriers and update Windows Phones directly, just as they do with Windows-based PCs, that is not the case. Instead, Microsoft is working with the wireless carriers to ensure that the updates they release pass whatever testing bars the carriers have put in place. But let the record show that I went to bat for consumers, with representatives of AT&T in the room, repeatedly, and interrupted attempts to move the conversation along. There's a cute feel-good vibe going on right now between Microsoft and AT&T, but I want to be clear about this: I do not trust the wireless carriers to do the right thing. Neither should you. And neither should Microsoft.

(And go figure, unlocked phones will get the updates directly from Microsoft, bypassing the carrier silliness entirely.)

Ich kann Thurrott nur zustimmen, den Providern kann man da nicht trauen. Werde also solange warten, bis ich ein vollkommen ungebrandetes Gerät bekomme oder im Ausland bestellen.

Danke für eure Antworten Dann werde ich wohl warten, bis das Gerät ohne Vodafone Branding in Deutschland verfügbar ist. Simlock frei ist das Gerät von Vodafone aber, oder?

OTA Updates !

es gibt eine sache, die mich momentan am vodafone-branding richtig stört:
wenn man im internet explorer die such(lupen)-taste drückt,
geht der explorer auf die vodafone seite "www.myweb360.com".
das finde ich sehr ärgerlich, denn sinnvoll wäre eine suchmaske von google (oder bing)..

Danke für den Hinweis, dann hat sich das mit einem Gerät von Vodafone endgültig für mich erledigt...

Da muss man wohl warten bis "Jailbreaks" kommen. Dann kann man das garantiert in der Windows CE Registry (die es immer noch unten drunter gibt) ändern. Aber so ist das für mich auch nichts.

Hoffentlich kommen bald ungebrandete Geräte in den Handel. MS schießt sich sonst selbst in den Fuß...

Nun ich habe einen Mobilfunkvertrag bei Vodafone. Habe mal das 360 My Phone ausprobiert und musste feststellen, das ich das Fenster im Browser nicht vergrößern konnte. Es hat sich um ein paar milimeter vergrößert und springt sofort wieder zurück. Im Querformat kann man den Text gerade so lesen. Und man kann ein Handy im App angeben, leider sind die ganzen WP7 Geräte nicht vertreten.
