Wie Cultofmac gerade veröffentlicht hat, hat Apple - wohl aus Sicherheitsgründen - den NFC-Chip nur für Apple Pay freigeschaltet.

The company declined to comment on future plans for the NFC chip, but unlike Touch ID on the iPhone 5s, you won’t find any Apple marketing materials promoting the addition of NFC as a major feature, as its touted as just a component of ApplePay.[/FONT]

Einerseits ist das Schade, da NFC ja auch für das Pairen eines Smartphones mit einem Lautsprecher etc. eignet. Andererseits kann ich verstehen, dass sie auf Sicherheit setzen. Aber - es könnte wie bei TouchID - später eine Öffnung für andere Anwendungsfelder geben

Was haltet ihr von Apples Entscheidung?

Na nicht, dass sich noch Alternativen zum eigenen Bezahldienst etablieren oder was? Kann man ja nichts mitverdienen.. Wäre schade für die Shareholder. 👍

Nö, das dürfte eher nicht das Problem sein. Ich denke, sie fahren hier die gleiche Strategie wie beim TouchID-Sensor…
