Firmware-Update für Windows RT

Heute ist wieder ein neues Update für die RT-Geräte (Surface, VivoTab RT usw.) herausgekommen. Hier was neue ist:

March update

The March cumulative update includes improved Surface Wi-Fi reliability, connectivity in various scenarios, and performance improvements including:

• Fixes to Wi-Fi reliability allowing for better roaming and improvements to "Limited" connectivity scenarios.
• Resolves issues with integrated volume button.
• Improved Type and Touch cover typing experience on soft surfaces and when devices and keyboard are lying flat.
• Resolves issue with random muting.
• Trackpad performance improvements.

Und wieder einmal ist der zweite Dienstag im Monat und damit Microsoft Patchday. Und natürlich gabs auch wieder einmal ein Firmware-Update für Windows RT. Hier der Changelog:

The April cumulative update includes improved Surface Wi-Fi reliability, connectivity in various scenarios, and performance improvements including:
•Certain “Limited” connectivity issues resolved
•Improves Wi-Fi to handle a wide range of access points.
•Resolves system crashes caused by certain Wi-Fi issues.

Neuer zweiter dienstag im monat, neues Update:

The May update includes these firmware and performance improvements:

•UEFI firmware update that enhances Surface RT speaker volume and improves system stability.
•Driver pack that improves performance and works with the updated UEFI firmware to enhance Surface RT speaker volume.
•Trackpad Settings driver for Surface Type Cover to enable interaction with the Trackpad Settings app for Japanese customers.

Update includes these firmware and performance improvements:
•Surface Home Button driver update that improves the reliability of the devices waking up immediately on the first button press.
•Firmware update for Surface Type Cover and Surface Touch Cover that improves functionality for both accessories. Includes the ability to toggle function keys, new shortcuts, and helpful keyboard navigation improvements.

Der behobene Fehler ist ja hier im Forum bekannt.

Für diejenigen ohne 8.1 Preview bietet das August-update folgendes:

August 2013 updates


Windows RT 8.0 updates only:
•UEFI firmware update that optimizes the audio experience at low volumes and removes a perceived pulsing in audio volume for some content.
•Update to system drivers that enhance stability and reliability.

Es ist auch ein Update für RT vorhanden, das nicht automatisch installiert wird. Das muss man selber auswählen.

Wo findet man den diese Updates?

Am besten über den Desktop und dann in die Systemsteuerung, System und Sicherheit

Oder rechts unten in der Taskleiste auf die "Fahne" klicken. Dann das Wartungscenter öffnen und dort links unten auf Windows Update.
Oder auf der Modern UI Update eingeben und das bei den Einstellungen Windows Update auswählen.
Aber normalerweise sollten die Updates automatisch installiert werden, es sei denn, es wurde beim Einrichten explizit deaktiviert.

Das trifft leider nicht zu. Es gibt Updates mit der Kennzeichnung "Optional und Empfohlen" diese werden nicht automatisch installiert.

Es gab ein Update für Win 8 und Win RT (Update für Windows 8 für x64-Systeme (KB2862768)

Das steht unter Optional und wird nicht automatisch installiert.

Es lohnt also immer mal nachzuschauen.

Für die RT-Geräte gibt es diesen Monat keine neue Firmware
