ROM INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS

1. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you flash back to stock with a repartition before installing Overcome ROM. This solves a multitude of random issues that people experience. You can find instructions on doing this below under "if your Tab doesn't boot..."
2. Also, for Titanium Backup users, ONLY backup user applications and data, NOT system apps and system data. Restoring system apps and system data causes a host of issues.

KERNEL INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS

1. If you already have Clockworkmod Recovery, grab the flashable zip from this post and Install through clockwork.
2. If you do NOT have Clockworkmod Recovery, grab the tar from this post and flash with ODIN.
3. NEITHER of these installation methods will affect your data, although it is always wise to have a backup in the unlikely event of disaster

IF your Tab does not boot after flashing the kernel and hangs at the Samsung Galaxy Tab screen, you must follow the following procedure

1. Get a stock rom package (any of Rotohammer's firmwares will work)
2. Get P1_add_hidden.zip attached to this post and extract the P1_add_hidden.pit file
3. Using Odin 1.7, put stock rom (Roto-JME-Full-v4.tar for example) in PDA slot.
4. Put P1_add_hidden.pit in Pit slot
5. Check repartition box
6. Put Tab in download mode by holding Volume Down and Power, connect to the computer, and press start.
7. After this, the Tab will reboot normally. Shut it down and return to download mode.
8. Open Odin 1.7 and reconnect the Tab.
9. In the PDA slot, choose the Overcome Kernel v2.0 tar file for use with Odin. Press start
10. It will flash the kernel then reboot. Upon reboot, you should hear the sexy robot voices informing you of the status of the EXT4 conversion.
11. Once done, the Tab will boot normally. At this point you can load Overcome Rom (or any other Rom of your choosing)

If you have Battery Life issues, try this first:

1. Turn the Tab off and charge to 100%
2. Unplug from charger and immediately boot into recovery by holding volume up & power button
3. Navigate to Advanced
4. In the Advanced menu, choose Wipe Battery Stats
5. Reboot Tab normally and Enjoy a freshly calibrated battery
6. NOTE - Having the tab off is important...I notice that even if I charge to full while tab is on, once I turn it off it continues charging for another 10 minutes or so before hitting 100%. I believe the sensor determining what is a full battery is different in the off position and will allow you to get the fullest charge.

KNOWN ISSUES

• Throws an error when performing certain operations in clockwork recovery that involve mounting drives. For example, nandroid backup and restore. However, this does not affect the performance or the execution of said activity. Since CwM 3.x generates mount points on the fly from the recovery.fstab file, I need it to consider both RFS and EXT4 file systems. The errors it generates are it failing to mount as either RFS or EXT4 (depending on which FS you actually have). So say you're converted to EXT4 and do a nandroid backup, you will see failed mounts for all the partitions as RFS, because obviously your system isn't RFS. However, the backup and restores both work beautifully regardless of junk errors.
• In-call volume is low - THIS IS FIXED BY JMF MODEM. Please flash the JMF modem if you are experiencing low in-call volume

Verstehe ich das richtig das ich das Tar File über meine Roto FW via odin fashen kann? Was ist denn nu mit dem CWM? Habe ich dann anschließend automatisch den CWM für künftige Updates? Oder muss ich CWM vorher drauffummel?

Hallo,
ich habe aus der Roto JMI herraus das Overcom Rom und Kernel installiert (geflasht), danach jeweils die Update via CwM Recovery Funktion.
Hier http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=932082 bei den XDAs ist allerdings in Engl. die Vorgehensweise beschriben.
Mit meinem Schulengl. und Hilfe von Linguatec Übers. dazu Informationen aus dem Forum habe ich nun Rom und Kernel wie in meiner Signatur installiert. Weitere Installationen tätige ich mit vorhandener Recovery Funktion aus dem CwM.

Gilt meiner Meinung nach als die solideste Basis, um danach per CWM die Updates zu flashen....ist auch der einzigste Kernel, welches dieses md5-Backup erstellen kann, also beim Flash mit Odin den Kernel draufmacht, ohne das SGT jungfräulich zu machen

So mal schnell 1.4.3 Update drüber gezogen. Quadrant zeigt mir nach nem frischen reboot 1716 ... hmm weitaus schlechter als vorher ...

Hab jetzt erstmal auf Overclocking und Undervolting verzichtet, da sich das SGT nicht besonders stabil anfühlt ... :/

ich habe das Overcome ohne OC UV ob ich nun 500 Punkte auf der Scala mehr habe fühl ich nicht.
Also OC der Sache wegen ich weiss nicht. Aber jeder wie er fühlt. Mein Tab rennt läuft...

Danke für die Hilfe aber ich bin ein wenig übergerascht wie schnell das ganze von statten ging. Das Kernel via Odin eingespielt. Das dauerte einige Sekunden. Das Tab in den Recoverymodus versetzt das Fullpaket eingespielt das dauerte auch nur einige sekunden, alles gewipet, neu gestartet (das dauerte etwa 3 Minuten) Das Modem sicherheitshalber noch mal neu eingespielt, fertig.

Na denn, ist echt leicht, und du kannst jetzt jedes beliebige Rom über CWM einspielen.....probier mal das BoyPPc-Rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1003280 aus, es sei denn, du machst dir noch das Theme von Natious drauf( honeycomb)http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=979343....
Ich habe http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1008663 hier drauf, SPB-MobileShell und das Overcome, passt perfekt

Schon montiert. Sowohl die 1.4.4 als auch die Mobile Schale von SBP. Zweitere hat mir bei der Vorstellung von Androitpit schon gefallen. Auch der erste Eindruck ist schon mal - Geil. Ausserdem wollte ich meine Prepaid Visa mal Sinnvoll testen.

Es ist auf jeden Fall auf gutem Wege, nur die einstellungen und Individualisierungen sind noch dürftig....
Ich erinner mich noch zu WM6-6.5-Zeiten, da war ich SPB-Tester und habe alles für Umme bekommen...schade, daß die mich nicht angeschrieben haben.....

Auch wenn es ein.wenig vom Thema abschweift: als ich denke das zum einen die prepaid Kreditkarte überfällig war, zum anderen finde ich das die Mobileshell dem Androiden eine herausragende Oberfläche bietet. Selbst auf dem Defy sieht die gut aus.

Ich beutze es sowohl bei meinem HTC Desire S und dem SGT...nur daß bei dem SGT die Icons ein bisschen zu groß sind, und über "blade buddy" oder "lcd density" diese nicht kleiner gemacht werden können.... auch die hauseigenen Apps bzw. Icons sind noch sehr rar....
Ach ja, daß es nicht zu offtopic wird, es passt sehr gut mit dem Overcome 1.4.4 und auch ohne OC und UV ist es sehr gut

Also sagt mal kommt mir das nur so vor oder frisst die Overcome Fw richtig Strom? Ich kann bei der Prozentanzeige für die Batterie zusehen wie die im Betrieb sinkt. Ist das Tabu im Standby ist als gut. Das beobachte ich definitiv erst Seite dem Kernal update so. Kann das jemand bestätigen ?

Ich habe eher das Gefühl das Tab, Android mit Overcome 1.4.4. (mit jeden Versionssprung) geht gefühlvoller mit dem vorhandenen Strom um.
Fazit Akkuladung hällt länger.
Frage Apps im Hintergrund, Heligkeit, ,WLAN GPS, BT, etc. ?!
Gefühlt.

Ich nutze das Tab wie gewohnt bzgl. Der von dir erwähnten Einstellungen. Ich überlege ob ich vielleicht vom kernal 2.3 auf das 2.1 downgraden soll. Kann das sein das das 2.3 ubertaktet?
