RAM vs Standard builds:
RAM builds load /system/app, /system/framework/ and /system/lib into memory at boot. They reside there indefinitely. This slows boot time but speeds up applications whenever a library is needed or a system app is loaded. This means that if you need to delete an app from the ROM it must be deleted from /system/ram/app/ and /ramfiles/app/. If you do not do this it will magically reappear after a reboot. Standard builds do not preload these things into memory, like any other android build. Also, to change the kernel libraries you either need to create a custom CWM .zip or push the libraries to /system/ram/lib/modules/.

Known issues:
-High drain in bluetooth standby (60mAh)
-Auto backlight does work but custom auto backlight levels do not. This started occuring once LED Notifications began to work. They are both tied to the lights library but it will remain this way until a new lights library is available. I feel that this is the best middle ground because to me LED notifications are essential.
-Mobile data switches on when disabling wifi through the power control widget in builds with RC1 or newer based apps (v2.4.2+). You must disable mobile data in either the power control widget or menu again, to disable it. This problem will most likely be resolved in a newer nightly. Use v2.4.1 if this is an issue for you as it does not have RC1 based apps/framework.
-Blurry MMS: Set UserAgent to "NexusOne" in messaging.
-MMS Max Size: This can be adjusted if you use handcent messaging, not within the stock messaging app.


FAQ:
-Will a DFT flashable version be released? I feel that CWM is a superior way to flashing and for data backup/recovery. I never plan to release a DFT flashable version.
-Will you include navigon fix (libmedia.so). Currently this keeps CM7 based builds from booting.
-Angry birds or does not work/force closes. Move the app to internal storage and it should work.
-Why does the camcorder force close? Make sure you have the back camera selected.. It closes with the front camera selected (which this phone does not have).
-Wifi won't work after upgrading kernel on RAM version. Make sure the kernel modules get placed in /system/ram/lib/modules/ rather than the normal /system/lib/modules/ directory.
-I delete x.apk in /system/app and it still exists after reboot in RAM version. Delete x.apk from /system/ram/app/ and /ramfiles/app/ then reboot. Voila!
-Can I upgrade from version x to version x with the same data? Yes, I have been using the same data since v1 with no problems. Just back up via CWM to be sure!
-I hear a robotic voice. Make a call, turn speakerphone off/on, then reboot.
-Market won't download. Change to a CWM partition layout that uses a 44MB /cache partition. I have uploaded one below.
-I have high battery drain with this build in comparison to other CM7 builds. Install an optional kernel, preferably rafpigna. The tytung kernel seems to have higher battery drain for me than the rafpigna kernel. Keep in mind this will break native tethering/wifi EAP. The download links are below.

Once I figure out which libs are troublesome those will be upgraded as well. Implemented AdamG's A2SD+. This will most likely stay within the build indefinitely unless there are serious problems with it.
v2.4.2: Updated to the latest CyanogenMod apps and framework. This change brings many updates to CyanogenMod settings, but brings a nice new feature... Battery percentage! This can be found under CyanogenMod settings -> Interface -> Status Bar tweaks. This brings the best of both worlds, RC1 features but without the bugs RC1 introduced. I will update to an RC1 based build whenever I can work out the bugs, but until then, we will be using the latest nightly before RC1 with RC1 framework/apps.
v2.4.1: Updated to tytung r6 kernel. This fixes IEEE 802.1x/EAP authentication support as well as native tethering.
v2.4: Fixed market (thanks crawlingcity). Updated to tytung r5 Kernel. Still on cm_bravo_39 base (last nightly before RC1). With any nightly past RC1 System seems to have 100% cpu usage all the time. Until this is resolved this will be the latest base.
v2.3.3: Fixed wifi reboot issue, based on cm_bravo_39 full. Still troubleshooting the WPA2 issues.
v2.3.2: GPS works again, changed base to cm_bravo_39 full. I am not sure what caused all of the issues between build 39 and RC1, but GPS did not work and it seemed sluggish due to 100% system CPU usage. Known WIFI problem that results in reboot loops for some users.. Will address in v2.3.3.
v2.3.1: Fixed Governor selection within CM Performance CPU Settings. Updated to Desire(bravo) RC1 base. High CPU usage problem/no GPS works.

Vielleicht hat er ja nur einen neuen Account bei den Devs angelegt?!

Habt ihr hierzu vielleicht noch eine Idee? (siehe Zitat aus altem Thread) Ich konnte gestern Abend nochmal problemlos Dateien zwischen dem Handy (Nokia 6230) meiner Freundin und mir hin und her schicken.

Jetzt bin ich auf Arbeit und versuche mit meinem Kollegen ebenfalls Daten auszutauschen. Er hat übrigens auch eine HD2 mit gleichem Rom. Hier versuche ich auf beiden Telefonen über die App "Bluetooth File Transfer" Daten auszutauschen. Egal in welche Richtung.

Das komische ist ja, dass sich die beiden Telefone finden und auch koppeln können, aber sobald ich sende erscheint die Meldung, dass der Dienst OPP nicht laufen würde, oder das andere Handy nicht sichtbar wäre. Das andere Handy steht aber auf sichtbar. Ich habe auch in den Optionen den Haken gesetzt, dass der Dienst beim Start geöffnet wird. Ein Handy-Neustart erfolgte auf beiden Geräten, aber senden kann ich weiterhin nichts. Habt ihr dazu vielleicht noch eine Idee?

Ja, leider genau dasselbe Problem. Es wird immer abgelehnt wegen Verbindungsfehler. Meine Freundin konnte mir von ihrem alten Nokia mal eine Datei schicken, aber ich bekomme keine raus. Weiß ehrlich gesagt nicht mehr wo ich suchen soll. Viel falsch machen kann man ja eigentlich nicht.

Wie gesagt, ich kann ja das entsprechende Gerät anwählen und auch über das Kennwort paaren. Allerdings bekomme ich immer Verbindungsfehler.

Habe es gerade eben auch mit dem HD2 von meinem Arbeitskollegen getestet, welcher die gleiche RAM-Version nutzt. Bei ihm kommt derselbe Fehler, obwohl wir alle Handys im Umkreis sehen und uns auch mit diesen erfolgreich paaren könnten.

Bin grad etwas ratlos. Was könnte ich falsch machen?

Step 1. Download the TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 v2.5.2.
Step 2. Copy to SD Card.
Step 3. Boot to 8. AD Recovery, the recovery mode.
Step 4 Choose 'install zip from sd card' and press the call button.
Step 5. Choose 'choose zip from sdcard' and press the call button.
Step 6. Locate and select 'TyphooN_CM7_v2.5.2.zip' and press the call button
Step 7. Locate and select 'Yes 0 Install TyphooN_CM7_v2.5.2.zip' and press the call button.

This will begin the upgrade process, after a few minutes it will complete, just reboot and you will be on the current version. Now even though I've not had any issues doing it this way, I always backup the apps. This way I can guarantee my apps and data were fine if something went wrong.

hi habe die version auf mein hd2 kann aber nix in market runterladen bricht immer beim runterladen ab hab einfach die standart versin rauf gemacht unter CWM hmm vieleicht ist mein interner speicher voll wie gehe ich genau vor wenn ich es nochmal instalieren möchte

Genauso siehts aus. Einfach nur die entsprechende Datei runterladen und auf die SD-Karte kopieren. Danach startest du das Handy neu und flashst sie über "AD Recovery".

Du kannst übrigens immer diese Version auf diesem Weg updaten, ohne dass dir Daten verloren gehen. Beachten musst du eigentlich nix weiter.

da ich ein ungutes Gefühl in der Magengegend habe und ich gerne auf Nummer Sicher gehen will, würde ich euch gerne hier kurz fragen, ob mein Vorhaben so korrekt ist:

Momentan hab ich auf dem HD2:
- SPL-2.08 HSPL
- MAGLDR 1.11
- MDJs_CyanogenMod7_v.2.0_NAND_A2SD_ (kein CWM)

Da ich seit einiger Zeit mehrfache Reboots habe und auch das GPS spinnt, würde ich nun gern auf diese Version hier umsteigen. Nach etlichem Lesen hier im Forum, kam ich auf folgendes Vorgehen:
- Task 29, um alles zu löschen
- MAGLRD 1.11 auf 1.13 updaten
- dann diesem Mega HowTo folgen ab Punkt 2b folgen

Ist das alles so korrekt oder habe ich was übersehen?

Task29 brauchst du nicht unbedingt, kannst du aber machen. Ansonsten ist alles korrekt.

Und natürlich das im ersten Post erwähnte Partitionslayout verwenden: 135M System CWM (Required for v2.4.5+)

edit: Beim Update wird die Miui Camera gelöscht, oder es war nur bei mir so...

Hat alles geklappt. Vielen Dank euch beiden Task29 hab ich sein lassen. Jetzt gehts ans Einrichten.

Bisher habe ich immer mal abwechselnd geflasht!? Kennt jemand einen Unterschied? Ich habe keinen gemerkt.

Hab die Standart genommen. Bei den XDA steht bzgl des Unterschieds Folgendes:

hätte da auch noch ne Frage:

Hab TyphooN CM 7 mit v2.4.1 drauf und den damals vorgesehene CWM 125MB drauf.
Nun ist ab Version 2.4.3 der CWM 135 MB angedacht.
Ich habe schon etliche Einstellungen und Apps gemacht und wollte auch alles beibehalten.
Ist da ein problem wenn ich das über das "kleinere" CWM flashe?
Oder benötigt man unbedingt die Version mit den 135 MB?
Das würde ja heißen das ich komplett neu aufsetzen müsste oder hab ich da einen Denkfehler?

Könnt mir da einer einen Tipp geben?
Im vorraus schonmal ein fettes Danke!!!

Ich das Rom (Normale Version) seit der Version 2.4 drauf. (jetzt schon 2.5.4)
Läuft sehr gut.
Akkuverbrauch im Standby 2-4 mA!!!
Hab auf meinem 1erHD2 immer noch MDJ 2.6 drauf. Ich bin der Meinung, dass dieses Rom ebenbürtig, wenn nicht sogar besser ist.
Seit der Version 2.5.4 funktioniert auch die Kabelfernbedienung des originalen Kopfhörers wieder!!!!!!!!!!!!
Da ich die Ohrhörer auf welche von Sony umgelötet habe, ist der Klang spitze!!!

@ayianapa: Mach einfach ein Backup per CWM deines Aktuellen ROMs, spiel dann das 135er Layout auf und danach das Backup per CWM wieder zurück. Danach kannst du dann auf die neue Version Updaten ohne deine Apps und Einstellungen zu verlieren.
