Note on MIUI Security (Root Access):

MIUI uses it's own proprietary application root management. The SU binary is there however the super user app is built in and it is disab led by default. You can turn it on by opening the app caled Permission Manager => Manage Root Permission touch the little button in the top right corner and say Yes to the message about root access.
