Die Presse scheint sich einig: "Das beste iPhone bisher, großartige Kamera und Siri könnte einem Since-Fiction Film entsprungen sein". Ich denke das sind klare Worte. Auch die heftig zu spürende Performance-Verbesserungen gegenüber dem iPhone 4 sollen laut TechCrunch sehr deutlich zu vernehmen sein. Aber lest selbst.

Speed

• The iPhone 4S is noticeably faster. Having used an iPhone 4 since launch day, the experience now closely matches the iPad 2 in terms of UI speed. Apps open faster, browser performance is improved, and other system functions like installing apps from the App Store while you navigate to another app are much snappier.

Camera

• The camera… is amazing. As noted above, the camera app opens much more quickly and taking pictures is faster as well. More importantly, the photos that are captured look worlds better than what the iPhone 4 offers, which was already quite good. We’ll dive deeper into the camera in the review, but if photography is important to you, this is something that’s incredibly impressive.

Siri

• Siri: mind-blowing. Not because Siri can answer anything you throw at it, but because every other voice input system we’ve ever used has been command-driven, and Siri breaks that mold. Apple repeatedly mentioned that Siri can understand the meaning of your request, the context and more, and that the system will only get better. It’s already leaps and bounds above anything Google offers, which is a pretty impressive solution on Android handsets.

Other

• The iPhone 4S uses the same vibrate system as the Verizon iPhone 4 but it’s not quite as aggressive. It still does the job as well as the iPhone 4, just with a bit less force. It’s just a little thing, but something we’ve noticed nonetheless.

Bin jetzt ebenfalls von WP7 aufs iPhone gewechselt. Habe mir immer versucht einzureden, dass das IPhone einfach nur gehyped wurde. Habe in meinen Freundeskreisen immer versucht die Leute vom IPhone abzubringen, aber um so länger ich das WP7 nutzte, wurde mir immer mehr klar, dass das Iphone wirklich das bessere Smartphone ist. In jeder Hinsicht. Meiner Meinung nach. Seien es die Apps, Qualitativ und Quantitativ oder die sehr hochwertige Verarbeitung.

@Inan Yagmur: machst Du hier einen auf Alleinunterhalter. Hast Du schon mal was von der Netiquette gelesen dann wüsstest Du das Doppel- und Mehrfachposts unhöflich sind...

Und ja WP7 hat mit Mango einen grossen Schritt vorwärts gemacht und mit dem Metrodesign haben sie eine Menüführung die einige gute Ansätze hat. Aber wie Du bereits erkannt hast sind die Geschmäcker verschieden. Mir persönlich ist das Metrodesign zu schlicht, die Kacheln finde ich zu langweilig und auf die Dauer zu eintönig. Etwas mehr Individuallsierungsmöglichkeiten hättem dem System gut getan.

Es ist lächerlich WP7 Geräte mit dem iPhone zu vergleichen. Ich meine, die Fakten sprechen für sich. Von allen Seiten nur Positives. Wie kann es sein, dass es immer noch Leute gibt, die erzählen ihr WP7 Gerät sei besser?! Es gibt auch Leute die einem erzählen, dass ihr SGS2 einen höher getakteten Prozessor hat und das 4S in Benchmark Tests problemlos schlägt... Naja, einfach mal einen fundierten Test lesen, Vorurteile gegen die Marke (für einen Moment) abstellen und die Ergebnisse sacken lassen. Ich denke für viele (ich nenne sie mal vorsichtig "Hater") ist das Telefon auch zu teuer und weil sie es sich nicht leisten können machen sie es schlecht. Wie schon mal erwähnt war ich ja vor Kurzem auch ein kleiner Apple Anti würde aber dieses Telefon nie wieder eintauschen. Es beeindruckt mich täglich aufs Neue und meine 2 Droids habe ich seitdem nicht wieder angefasst Eigentlich will ich nur sagen, wer einmal in den Genuß kommt wird ihn nicht mehr missen wollen. Es kommt einem vor als seien alle anderen Geräte minderwertig.

Du ermahnst andere ihre Vorurteile abzustellen, stellst deine Meinung aber als Tatsache dar.
Es ist sicher nicht lächerlich WP7 mit iOS zu vergleichen, da beides Betriebssysteme für Smartphones sind. Beide haben ihre Vor- und Nachteile, genau wie auch Android für viele Vorteile bietet, auf welche sie nicht verzichten wollen. Auch Testergebnisse sollten wohl bei der momentanen Leistungsdichte kein Grund für ein Wechsel sein oder würdest du direkt wieder wechseln, wenn ein Android in einem Benchmark besser abschneidet?
Versteh mich nicht falsch, ich habe mir selbst ein iPhone geholt, ich finde nur man sollte nicht immer pauschalisieren und alles allgemein gültig machen.

Beste Smartphonekamera auf dem Markt. Das SGS2 hat schon wirklich gute Bilder geschossen, aber das iPhone 4S setzt noch einmal locker einen drauf.

Auch der Browser sorgt für eine großartige Nutzer-Erfahrung.

Das iPhone 4S ist deutlich schneller als das iPhone 4. In Sachen Gaming-Performance ist das 4S dem iPhone 4 bei weitem überlegen. Apps öffnen sich teilweise bis zu 5 mal schneller (je nach größe).

Interessant: Das Argument vieler Benutzer, das iOS würde die Seite nicht mehr laden, wenn man anfängt zu scrollen ist damit hinfällig. Im Gegenteil: Das iPhone 4S zeigt Webseiten beim Laden sogar immer noch schneller an bei Bewegungen als viele anderen Probanden.

REVIEW CONCLUSION

For most people, the iPhone 4 was the ideal phone: it provided premium hardware with software that anyone could learn, it had great battery life, a fantastic camera, and a reasonable price. The iPhone 4S continues this legacy. It's absolutely one of the best smartphones that you can buy right now. But of course, we're not going to see another iPhone until late next year, and by then, the "other" smartphone choices are likely to be far more impressive than what Apple has done with the 4S. We're going to see quad-core phones with 720p displays, terrific battery life, and new software innovations.

If you ignore the fact that the iPhone 4S might quickly lose its relevance in 2012, which, for some people, doesn't matter, and if you have no ideological adversity to Apple's iOS operating system, the iPhone 4S is nearly perfect for what it is, and we highly recommend it.

We rate the iPhone 4S 4.5/5.
