SlimKat Stable 8.0

SlimRoms is a custom android operating system. The main goal is to offer users a slimmed down but still feature rich alternative to other android operating systems. The entire SlimTeam work together to bring you this tailor-made beauty straight from Android Open Source Project (AOSP) source code. All of the sources can be publicly viewed through GitHub and you can stop by the public Gerrit to submit patches of any type.

Q) How can i change the DPI and whats the Stock Default DPI
A) DPI Settings coming soon , you can use textdroider_dpi from Playstore https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ider_dpi&hl=de , this works fine. Default Stock DPI is 480.

Q) A few Settings like Disable Blacklight Keys and more are missing .
A) All features you know from 4.3 will come back from time to time , for now you can use Xposed in combination with Gravity Box.

Q) Is ART stable to use ?
A)Test it for your self , remember that ART is in an early phase

Q) Can i restore my apps with Titanium Backup coming from another Rom ?
A) Yes you can , remember " Don't restore System Apps "

Q) What for a Recovery is recommanded ?
A) I use TWRP 2.6.3.1 http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2468187 and it works fine , you can use the official CWM Recovery too.


Q ) There is no Theme Chooser in the Rom ?
A ) For now we use no Theme Chooser, you can use HK ThemeManager, it does the same and more

In der aktuellen Weekly ist dort noch der KT Kernel verbaut oder schon der Stock von CM11??

Der KT Kernel zieht mir zuviel Saft aus dem Akku...nach dem ich die letzten Tage die CM11 nightly getestet habe (auch mit KT Kernel) kann ich nur sagen das der CM Kernel eindeutig besser läuft.

CM Kernel und minimal stock. Momentan sicher die Beste Lösung :-)

Na das hört sich soch gut an.

Bin immernoch begeistert von der SlimKat...doch hat es mich geärgert das der Strohmverbrauch auch über Nacht nicht unter 2,5%/h gefallen ist.

Deshalb hatte ich die CM11 getestet..mit verschiedenen Kerneln.....und bin zu dem Ergebnis gekommen das der orginale Stock von der CM11 am besten läuft. Übertaken etc ist mir nicht wichtig.

Muss ich die GApps von der Slimkat nutzen oder gehen auch die von der CM11?

Die ich von XDA habe laufen nicht so richtig mit der Slimkat..da wird mir zb. Candy Crush Saga garnicht angezeigt. nehme ich aber die von der Slimkat ist alles bestens!

Eine Frage noch...mit welchen Tool kann ich die Symbole für Akku,WLan etc verändern..sprich nen anderes farbiges Symbol verwenden??

Habe Xposed und den Themes Manger drauf...damit geht das aber die Symbole gefallen mir nicht so richtig.

Soviel ich weiss, funktioniert der aber nicht für die Batterieanzeige. Die ist wohl in Java separat programmiert worden.

Ich habe immer noch den Alucard drauf und hatte gar nicht mitbekommen, dass in den aktuellen SlimKats jetzt nicht mehr der KT, sondern der CM Kernel drin ist.

Wie ist denn der CM Kernel so im Vergleich zum Alucard, was Laufzeiten und flüssiges Arbeiten angeht? Hat da schon jemand testen können?

Die Akku Anzeige kannst ja im Rom selbst ändern, sowohl optisch als auch farblich :-)

Zum Kernel kann ich nix groß sagen, nutz das S4 schon lange nicht mehr, weiß aber von einigen die den Alcurad Kernel sonst nutzen das der den wir im Rom haben noch einen Tacken besser ist , aber wie es immer so ist, selbst testen ist immer noch am effektivsten :-)

Der CM Kernel scheint wirklich super zu sein. Alles noch einen Tacken flüssiger als mit Alucard. Auch Atuntu bestätigt das. Zur Akkulaufzeit kann ich noch nichts sagen, der CM Kernel bleibt aber erstmal drauf!

Ich schätze die Akku Laufzeit wird auch besser sein, kann es aber nicht beurteilen, dass S4 nutzt nur noch meine Frau und die zeigt mir nen Vogel wenn ich da ständig Teste :-)

Mhm... Der CM Kernel lef soweit ganz gut. Bissl flüssiger als Alucard bei ähnlichem Akkuverbrauch. Bis jetzt gerade auf einmal 20% Akku in einer Stunde weg waren. Keine APP Wakelogs oder Verbraucher zu sehen. Lediglich "Ruhezustand" ist extrem hoch. Habe jetzt mal die Standortdienste aus gemacht, die nach dem Aufspielen der 4.4 wohl wieder aktiviert waren und habe mal einen Neustart gemacht. Mal abwarten, ob es das war...

Gut möglich, Standortdienste sind leider Akku Killer, eines der ersten Dinge die ich deaktiviere :-)

2:08 h Screen On bei 66% Restakku. Bin begeistert.

Hallo, ich bin seit kurzem auch auf der aktuellen SlimKat unterwegs. Zuvor lief Duxters Mystery Rom. Ich habe bislang alles lösen können, bis auf ein kleines Problem. Mit der Mystery Rom wurden auf meinem mit Bluetooth verbunden Radio im Auto die Meta Daten der MP3's korrekt angezeigt. Mit der SlimKat haut das irgendwie nicht hin. Als Player kam in beiden Fällen PowerAmp zur Anwendung. Auch der Wechsel auf den Efficient Kernel, der bei der Mystery genutzt wurde bracht keine Besserung. Hat jemand noch ne Idee?

Hi. Rom funzt soweit gut. Bei dem einen Spiel was ich besitze, Plants vs. Zombies ruckelt das Bild sehr stark wie bei einem Wackelkontakt.
Ist das bei euch auch so?

A good day to publish the next SlimKat weekly 4.6. Jenkins just started to build for all devices new builds. This week is a special week for some device. A lot changes device specific. See the notes below.

Included is a new feature for secure lockscreens. Shake to temporarily secure.

General notes:

If you want to clean flash. Just follow the usual clean flash instructions here
Dirty flashers do the following: Format system manually....flash SlimKat build, flash new gapps and boot up.
If you did not update the gapps which were published during the week the notes here are still valid
Photosphere addon package was dropped now. The new google camera is available over the PlayStore as replacement and can be installed as second camera without problems.




Device specific notes:

i9300 and t0lte got major camera driver changes. Initial tests seems to work well for us. We need now a wider test. So do a backup of the prior install, install the new build and let us know if it is working better then before
m7att, m7tmo and m7ul are unified now and for all this devices you just need to download the m7 build. m7spr and m7vzw will stay like it was.

Weil der Thread nie up to date gehalten wurde , ich daher nach Absprache mit den Mods hier einen Offiziellen eröffnet habe und zwei gleiche threads relativ sinnfrei sind :-)

Da dies der offizielle ROM Thread eines Team Members ist und dieser auch sicher aktuell gehalten wird. Und bitte keine weiter Diskussion dazu hier im Thread, alles weiter gerne per PN.

Gemäß netiquette sollte man dann auch Threads up to date halten , schau mal wie oft ich um Thread Updates gebeten habe und nie reagiert wurde.

Weithin behalten wir uns als die Entwickler des Roms das Recht vor unsere Rom Threads selbst und vor allem up to date zu führen.

Kann demnach deine Reaktion nicht wirklich nachvollziehen. Aber steht dir natürlich frei dich zu Beschwerden das ein Offizielles Rom auch von Offiziellen vermarktet wird. Wäre der alte Thread vernünftig geführt worden wäre es nicht mal zwingend von Nöten gewesen.

Builds rolling out in the next hours. This week we bring no new stuff , only a few changes and exFAT support. Next week / 5.0 Build will bring a lot of new things , surprise surprise :)

• Mostly device-specific changes again this time, including tons of LG kernel updates for the msm7x27a boards, a few jflte updates, M7, i9100, n7000, and p3100 updates.
  
• We've also updated our builds to allow for exFAT support.

Ich hatte in letzter Zeit nicht viel verfolgen können. Bin noch auf der 4.0 Stable.
Muss ich was beachten, wenn ich jetzt von da auf die 4.9 flashen möchte?
Oder wie gewohnt?
Daten bleiben bestehen?
Und exfat funktioniert jetzt wirklich?
Das wäre echt stark!

Naja, schon ein großer Sprung , in der Regel geht's aber ohne wipe.

Mach ein Backup, Flash die weekly drüber , wenn du keine Probleme hast gut. Wenn doch , Backup restore, Daten mit TB sichern , einmal wipe und go.

ExFAT sollte nun problemlos laufen ja.

Sorry , eben erst gelesen, hatte wenig Zeit diese Woche. Ohne Details kann ich dir nicht helfen, ich empfehle dir aber bis heute Nacht/morgen Vormittag zu warten , dann ist Build 5.0 + neue Gapps online, wurden einige Dinge gefixt.

Neue Features kommen mit dem stable 5.0 build nicht, wir bauen nichts neues in stable builds ein.

Für die die auf die Theme Engine warten , geplant in einer der nächsten Weeklys.
