Root für Archos G9 mit Android 4 ICS

Ein wenig kompliziert, aber funktioniert.

Step 1

Temporäres Root:

[FONT=verdana]1. Install the ADB drivers, using my other thread here (WINDOWS ONLY)
2. Make sure you have the Android SDK installed and have access to adb
3. Open up a command window (Windows key + R, type cmd and hit enter)
4. Type, with your tablet plugged in:

[FONT=Arial]adb devices[/FONT]

[FONT=verdana]Your device should appear. If not, repeat steps 1-4 until it does. You may need to restart your computer
5. Download Step 1 and Step 2 Note: Don't open these links in a browser, not tapatalk or the xda app
( beide Dateien hab ich in eine Zip hier als Anhang gepackt *siehe unten*)
Download them to your desktop
6. Go back to your command window and type

[/FONT][FONT=verdana]7. Write these commands into it, pressing enter at each new line:

[FONT=Arial]adb push 2 /data/local/[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial]adb shell chmod 0755 /data/local/1[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial]adb shell chmod 0755 /data/local/2[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial]adb shell /data/local/1[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial]adb reboot[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial]adb shell /data/local/2[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial]adb reboot[/FONT]

[FONT=verdana](Note: Device will reboot at both adb reboot commands)
You are done!
Note: Device doesn't wake from sleep after this and you can only get root via ADB, by typing adb shell

Step 2

SDE und permanentes Root:

1. Make sure you have done the temp root method
2. Download gen9_enable_sde.zip and extract to your desktop
3. Open the command window again (if it's a new one, type cd desktop again)
4. With your device plugged in, type

and hit enter
5. Type

adb shell rm /data/local.prop

and hit enter

Step 3

Installation von ICS mit Root, Busybox und Superuser

Laden dieser Dateien:
[FONT=verdana]- [/FONT][B]archos.ext4.update under archive ICS.update.zip => http://hotfile.com/dl/149252596/a4d2...pdate.zip.html

- zImage and initramfs.cpio.lzo under archive drive.zip => http://hotfile.com/dl/149250435/75b0cdb/drive.zip.html

Die archos.ext4.update.zip Entpacken und auf das Gerät kopieren (nicht in irgendeinen Ordner!)

Nun das Archos im Recoverymodus starten.
Dazu fährt man es herunter und startet es mit gedrückter Lautstärke leise Taste.

1. Hold power + volume down until the archos logo appears and a recovery menu appears
2. Use Volume Up + Down and power to select Recovery Menu > Developer Edition menu
3. Use them to select Flash Kernel and initramfs
4. When a drive appears on your computer, copy the zImage and initramfs.cpio.gz to it. Press power on the device, wait and then press it again

Dann geht man im Recoverymenü wieder zurück und startet neu.
Nun sollte das Gerät automatisch ein Update installieren (die zuvor kopierte grosse Firmwaredatei)
Es sind an die 60 Apps die aktualisiert werden.
Danach bekam ich einen Bootloop.
Also startete ich das Gerät neu (lange die Powertaste drücken)
Danach installierte es nochmals 8 Apps und startete normal.

Nun hat man das neuste Android 4.0 ICS mit Rootrechten, Busybox und Superuserapp.
Kann nun z.b. den I/o Scheduler auf den schnelleren Deadline oder Noop stellen und vieles mehr.

Achtung!
Die Anleitung ist nicht für frische Anfänger gedacht.
Sie setzt ein Vorwissen über Android, Adb, Windows CMD usw. voraus.

Einfach "obendrauf" ins Root. SD Karte öffnen und die Datei kopieren.

Funktioniert das auch mit meinem Archos g9 101 Turbo 1gb RAM und der 250GB Platte?

erstmal danke für die Anleitung.

aufgetauchte Probleme:
- Schritt „Remove Android Kernel“ vergessen gehabt
- An/Aus Taste einmal zuviel gedrückt und dadurch bereits ein Punkt zugestimmt

gelöscht da geschafft
